Today, I’m giving away the Quilting Arts TV Series 700 DVD! This is a four-DVD set that includes all the episodes for an entire season of Quilting Arts TV with host Pokey Bolton. (I’m in three of the episodes in the 700 series, which started airing on public television stations in the U.S. last fall.) It retails for $39.
Guests on these shows include Deidre Adams, Shelley Brenner Baird, Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, Mary Jane Butler, Malka Dubrawsky, Jamie Fingal, Victoria Gertenbach, Dianne Giancola, Candy Glendening, Kerr Grabowski, Mary Hettmansperger, Leslie Tucker Jenison, Susan Brubaker Knapp, Jeannie Palmer Moore, Judy Coates Perez, Beryl Taylor, Jean Wells, Valori Wells, and others.
Psssst! Notice those cute little houses on the cover of the DVD set? They are the work of Candy Glendening, whom I featured in yesterday’s giveaway. There’s a chance to win her DVD in that post.
Here’s your chance to win! Leave a comment after this post and tell me why you like Quilting Arts magazine or Quilting Arts TV, or about a technique you’ve learned from them. (And if you haven't looked at either, what the heck are you waiting for?) I’ll pull one name at random at 9 p.m. on Tuesday Nov. 22, and send you the DVD set. We have a winner! Cornwoman has won the set of DVDs.
Quilting Arts magazine inspires my right brain when the left wants to take over. It introduces me to "artists" from all over that I might never be exposed to. The digital downloads of mags that I cannot get locally is also appreciated. Unfortunately I cannot get the PBS shows here in northern ontario Canada. Thanks for the opportunity to win this awesome give-away.

ReplyDeleteLove learning so many different techniques, and the photography is so wonderful showing all the beautiful pieces.
ReplyDeleteI love it because there is so much quilting education in there. I still consider myself a newbie in quilting and as such I am always seeking out knowledge to further my quilting adventure. I love having those Ahaa moments and learning something new. This is where you can find them and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI love the range and depth of inspiration I get from Quilting Arts. I have really, really appreciated the free downloadable "booklets" that are offered from time to time.
ReplyDeleteI'd still be floundering if I hadn't found Quilting Arts. It has been instrumental in the path I've taken to art quilting.
ReplyDeleteI love Quilting Arts - it always stretches my imagination. Even if a technique is shown that might not interest me at the moment, I find that I often use it in the future. Most recently I've used improvisational piecing techniques that I learned from the QA shows - love, love, love it! Jan in SD
ReplyDeleteI am quickly converting from a non-traditional quilter to an art quilter. Quilting Arts is my go to place for information and ideas.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting, the blog AND the give aways! I would love to win a copy of Series 700!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this DVD. I can't get quilting arts all the time where I live, so I haven't gotten to see all the shows. I learn so much each time I do catch a show. It is one of my favorite TV shows. Thank you for this give-away.
ReplyDeleteQA magazine has really opened my eyes to innovative techniques over the years. I recently bought Candy's Dye DVD even though I consider myself a fairly experienced dyer. I love her scientific brain meets creative side approach!
ReplyDeleteWould love to win the 700 DVD so I could look at them any time I wanted!

ReplyDeleteHi Susan
ReplyDeleteI like Quilting Arts because it challenges me to try new ideas.
I love Quilting Arts TV ad would love to win this DVD. My local PBS used to show it, but haven't in the last year. I learned about thread sketching in one episode and making landscapes from oil sticks. Love it, but missed season 4,5,6, and 7. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThe thing I love the most about Quilting Arts Magazine is the instructional articles... especially when you're the author! Great magazine.
ReplyDeleteHugs from Mary
I loooove Quilting Arts TV. It's a doorway into a whole world of creative ideas and colors and fabric and pure joy! And being able to watch someone make something is so much better than reading about it. Thanks for hosting the giveaway.

This is one DVD I would enjoy owning. I learned about thread sketching from QATV, as well as paint sticks, fabric postcards, and art quilts in general. Now our local PBS has dropped all quilting programs. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteQuilting Arts was the first art magazine I ever read. I love it, and I've subscribed to it ever since. The Dallas/Fort Worth PBS station does not air Quilting Arts TV so I would love to win this series!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity!

I love Quilting Arts magazines. The show is not on my public tv any longer. :( I was just starting out quilting and watched the show a few times before it went off the air.
ReplyDeleteI think having a video of some of the shows would be great.
Tammy
I love Quilting Arts magazine! It really gets me thinking and motivated to do new things. I especially like the articles that have to do with using photos in quilts and machine quilting.
ReplyDeleteQuilting Arts is one of my favorite magazines. It has given me the courage to try fabric painting (an article in one the Gifts specials I think), and the most recent article has the screen printing instructions, which I have just starting doing as well. I have enjoyed your thread painting articles, and made the little "magic" card cases for all my mini group friends a few years ago as well. Great pubication!
ReplyDeleteI hope this is an international giveaway... anyhow, I'll leave a comment :) e-mail is hard dot ware at netti dot fi
ReplyDeleteIn the UK Quilting Arts magazine is not easy to find so I have recently taken out a subscription! in fact this is the only craft magazine I subscribe to now - it's full of such great ideas and inspiration
ReplyDeleteQuilting Arts is one of the few magazines I subscribe to. Always inspirational especially when Susan Brubaker Knapp is in it.
ReplyDeletemarciadalton@bellsouth.net
Oh Me! Me! Please pick me! Thanks so much for being such a kind, talented and generous quilt artist!
ReplyDeleteI learn about all these wonderful things from reading your blog! Want to know more!
ReplyDeleteI love the innovative ideas and that most processes are explained so well in Quilting Arts. Quilting Arts magazine inspires my creativity and gets me to think outside the box.

I've been a subscriber of Quilting Arts from Issue #1! What I like best is the variety and the bright, clear photos.
ReplyDeleteThe PBS show is not available in my area and I would love to see it on DVD. Quilting Arts is the only quilting magazine I still have a subscription to - all the others are just patterns.
ReplyDeleteThe PBS series is not shown in my area and I would love to see the DVD. Quilting Arts magazine is the only magazine I still subscribe to.
ReplyDeleteI'm always glued to my television on Saturday morning watching Quilting Arts. I love being able to see what other artists are creating.
ReplyDeleteQuilting Arts inspires me! My PBS doesn't show this, to my dismay, so the dvd would be so special. I'm rediscovering my identity as a fiber artist, QA adds fuel to my fire. Thanks for the chance at winning the dvd!
ReplyDeleteQuilting Arts always inspires me with new things. Thanks for sharing your treasures.
ReplyDeleteI am always inspired and watching QATV gets my creative juices flowing. Unfortunately, our local PBS has pulled the show from their line-up. BOOO! SO, having the series would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteI World Love to win! Greetings from Switzerland

ReplyDeleteI love Quilting Arts because they help push you out of your comfort zone and try new techniques. The pictures are fantastic and the articles very informative.
Thanks for the give aways, Susan.
Susan, what a great prize. You're right, I haven't looked into Quilting Arts magazine and I don't know why not. Let's put that on my evergrowing to-do list. Thanks for the great giveaways. Kd
ReplyDeleteI've used so many projects and ideas from the QA magazine and the TV show. So much inspiration! I try not to miss one show, it's the favorite part of my day!
ReplyDeleteQA magazine always has something I would never have thought to try. It's definitely an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI used to buy QA magazine when I was working in glass, just to get inspired. Then I became a convert! This looks like a great video.
ReplyDeleteI moved to the art quilts and didn't want to leave. I've only gotten a couple of the Quilting Arts Magazine and love reading and seeing photos of different techniques and how to do them! I am keeping my issues for future reference.
ReplyDeleteThe QATV was on PBS where I lived, but I haven't been able to find it there after I watched the first couple. I would really LOVE to win the DVD of QATV Series 700! Thanks for having the drawing!
This is a wonderful giveaway! I love watching crafting dvds and have never seen this series. I would so enjoy seeing all the artists at work! Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI love both the magazine and the tv show. I recently learned a new technique that I'm crazy about and have already made three pieces using a technique totally new to me! Ana Buzzalino (episode 804) showed how to quilt the fabric all over and then add paint and other things to make a marvelous piece of art. It's fun and makes me feel free! Thanks, Ana and QA. And thanks Susan, for the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteQuilting Arts Magazine was a revelation to me! I have learned sooo much, but the 2 most impactful things, off the top of my head, are the great & abiding love for Shiva paintsticks, which QA introduced me to, and also mega-hand stitched pieces.
ReplyDeleteI would *love* to have the DVD series as inspiration. Thanks for the chance to win!
What a great give away, unfortunately here in B.C. most of the American Quilt shows are no longer available on television, so to have a dvd of some of these would be great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance.
The inspiration is awesome whether from the magazine or the video.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that TV show and don't get it on our stations anymore. I miss it! I have learned so much about being modernly creative! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love Quilting Arts for all of the inspiration and techniques that allow you to grow in directions you may not have even thought of! I've found many quilters blogs by googling them when profiled in the magazine or on the TV Series. Unfortunately I've not been able to watch the last two seasons and would LOVE to win the Quilting Arts TV Series 700 set. I've really enjoyed fabric painting, using Shiva Paintsticks and all of the articles on free motion quilting.

I have been reading Quilting Arts magazine since the 1st issue. I love it because it is always full of new ideas and things to try.
ReplyDeleteI get up at 6 on Saturday mornings to watch QA. I learn so much and look forward to it each week! It's how I came to buy your DVD :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the non-traditional quilting ideas
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE Quilting Arts magazine and their TV show! I have been a subscribed for three years and starting my fourth! I love machine stitching and I have your articles pulled out and I try to emulate your work! Machine stitching/thread painting is what I love to do! And I would love to win this set of DVDs...I wouldn't have to wait until Saturday to see my favorite program!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win the DVD. My husband has recorded a few episodes of QA but not all of them, so I have a lot of viewing to catch up on. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love Quilting Arts - have every single issue ever printed and have been a faithful subscriber since discovering the magazine. So much inspiration in one magazine, WOW! Would love to win the DVD!
ReplyDeleteQuilting Arts magazine often gives me the "nudge" I need to stop dreaming/thinking about a project or technique and actually DO it.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win the DVD's, too! What haven't I learned from QA? I watch the tv show and go over the magazines over and over again. I've learned better techniques for machine quilting (from you, I might add), learned new dyeing techniques, and become more brave about painting fabric. I can hardly wait to retire to have more time to try out what I learn from QA!
ReplyDeleteI'm a visual learner and sometimes have trouble comprehending written instructions, so the TV show helps me get it.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any access to the TV series (but I wish I did) and only occasionally get to see the magazine. What can I say???
ReplyDeletethanks!
I haven't seen the show in several years, but I've been enjoying the daily newsletter.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful give-away, Susan. I have no chance of getting QATV down here in Tassie. I've been getting Quilting Arts magazine since it started and have learned about and from some really fantastic people and techniques. We don't get many tutors come to Tasmania due to the expense, so this is a great substitute.
ReplyDeleteI love perusing Quilting Arts magazine. So many different ideas, techniques and inspirations.
ReplyDeleteWhen you are stuck for ideas Quilting Arts will always inspire me to try something new and stretch myself.
ReplyDeleteAdore Quilting Arts TV and have subscribed to the QA magazine for as long as I have known about it! I love the interaction between Pokey and the guests and how she always seems to ask just the question that I am thinking of at just the right time! I saw you on QA, own the DVD featured and adore everything you do. Please, please, please toss my name into the ring! I am also a big FB fan of both you and QA and have left comments in both places this week, alone! Thanks for this fabulous opportunity, love it!
ReplyDeleteCan you believe I've never seen a QA DVD? WOuld love to see this one!
ReplyDeleteI love quilting arts magazine and I have only recently found their website. I love all the different things they do with fabric and thread anything else.
ReplyDeleteI'm spending this Sat. afternoon looking at all the free downloads from Quilting Arts and Cloth, Paper, Scissors, and downloading any that I've missed. QA, in particular, has probably influenced my growth as an art quilter more than any other publication or resource. Their DVDs on screenprinting really encouraged me to spread my wings.
ReplyDeleteI cant begin to tell you how many techniques Ive wanted to try from the QA magazine, But alas I hav'nt tried nearly as many as I would like. My local library in Australia has series 100 of the QA DVDs (we are a little behind), but I was amazed to have the oppotunity to loan that. Oh imagine if i owned my own!
ReplyDeleteRachelndave@bigpond.com
I would love to win the DVD..I learn so much when I watch the Quilting Arts TV series...thanks for the giveaway...
ReplyDeleteI love Quilting Arts - such creative techniques. Would love to win this!
ReplyDeleteI love Quilting Arts magazine.,but the show is great too because you get a visual of what is happening. Since their is not many classes in Art Quilting in my area and the ones in the States are not possible for me yet this is the best way to learn and be exposed to new ideas!
ReplyDeleteEspecially cool to see all the people in person
Our PBS station quit carrying QA and I am so sad. I love seeing the artist I read about and learning the techniques. The series is on my Christmas wish list. I always learn so much from their programs. Thanks Susan and QATV!
ReplyDeleteQuilting Arts is a wonderful mix of inspiration and education. The magazine helped me combine my passions.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the wonderful giveaway, Susan! I am VERY excited about having won the set of DVD's!!
