The gum tree you have photographed above, is Eucalyptus Caesia, also know as Gungurru, or Silver Princess due to the beautiful bark. They are native to Western Australia, but grow well in Melbourne also. I have one in my garden, which is a favourite and much loved by the birds when it is in flower.
