Seriously, what are you afraid of?

Afraid of free-motion stitching and thread sketching? There’s no need to be! Let me explain the basics and tell you why there’s nothing to fear. I’m giving a presentation on my thread sketching methods tonight at the Charlotte Quilters’ Guild. It includes a slideshow, followed by a question-and-answer session and a trunk show of lots of my recent work, including pieces I did for my 2010 series of articles for Quilting Arts magazine, my two Quilting Arts DVDs, and my new book, Point, Click, Quilt!

I’d love it if you’d come!

Charlotte Quilters Guild
Wednesday, May 4 at 7 p.m.
Avondale Presbyterian Church

There are still a few spots left in the two workshops I’m teaching Friday and Saturday (May 6 and 7) on Wholecloth Painting. If you are interested, please e-mail Debbie Langsam at dmlangsa@uncc.edu to get details.

  2. Sounds like a fun evening. I was a free motion and thread painter before I was introduced to quilting. Don't know why I dont combine them more, when I do...look out :-)

  3. sadly I have to work buuuuuuuuuuuut I must confess it never occured to me to see if Charlotte (less than an hour from my own smaller home town) had a quilt guild. Silly me. Glad I know better now.

Too bad I can't commemorate this knowledge by being in attendance tonight :(

  5. Would love to take a class with you. I will just have to keep practicing on my own, no good classes around here.
