Serendipity I
This is a small piece I made this weekend for the silent auction at the Charlotte Quilters Guild quilt show (March 20-22). I started with one of the prints I made in Janet’s open mesh screen printing workshop. It has machine quilting and hand embroidery on top. The embellishments are polymer clay.

Great embellishment! I would still belong to my local guild if we had other quilters doing things like this!

ReplyDeleteOh, dear! Maybe you need to start your own guild! I belong to two guilds (one in my small town, and one in nearby Charlotte, NC) and there are many people interested in art quilting and mixed media. Interest has been growing steadily in the past few years. When I speak to guilds (I talk about my traditional quilts AND my art quilts) I always ask how many are traditional, how many are art quilters, and how many do both. I'm always surprised by how many raise their hands to indicate "both."
