This is my new kitten, Wicked, with a collection of six pretty fat quarters in shades of yellow, peach, pink and blue. They look to me like they are from a collection of 1930s fabrics, but I don’t have any more information about them! (If you know the designer or fabric company that makes them, please leave a comment and let me know, so I can share it.) They came in the goodie bag given to teachers at International Quilt Festival.
Here’s your chance to win! Leave a comment after this post and tell me a bit about your pet, if you have one. I’ll pull a name at random at 9 p.m. on Thursday Dec. 8, and send you the fabrics. (But not the kitten. She’s mine!) THE WINNER IS: Rhonda G!

Your kitty is cute! She reminds me of my late cat Opus who was my lay on my shoulder while I sew buddy. My current kitty is Kalli. She is very cuddly in a 'im ignoring you just cuddle me now' kind of way. She's is too jumpy to sew with me.
ReplyDeleteWicked is adorable. I had a Tuxedo cat for 19 yrs. I lost him last year, but I miss him still. May you have many happy years with you little addition.
ReplyDeleteFrom Teresa (troutail@yahoo.com)
I have 5 rescue kitties and I love them all. Four are inside and one is a feral cat that lived in the neighborhood. We named her Denise because she is loud like my MIL. We worked with her everday and finally was able to trap her to have her spayed. We put a cat door in the garage and she has a heated water bowl and heated bed. She has become so loveable to us so I can't imagine there are antcats out there that can't be tamed!
ReplyDeleteI have a beautiful Chihuahua that we rescued. Melanie is a slender 7 pounds and has the most wonderful personality. She's sweet and she loves my sewing/quilting room. Mel Mel sits on a worn Hello Kitty pillow while I work away. She is content to be near her mama.
ReplyDeleteBuddy is our terrier mix. Rescued from the pound. He is the most lovable little creature around. Unfortunately his previous owners must have not been too good to him and that breaks my heart.
ReplyDeleteYour new kitten is very cute. I have two cats, Joe (14 1/2) and Grass Hopper (2). Both are gray and white, but Joe turns from gray to a brownish color depending on the seasons and get's beige spots in his white area as well - in the summer. He is six toed and starting to show his age now. Grass Hopper is our wild one, can catch anything, throws tantrums when he is bored or hungry but oh so sweet the rest of the time. LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to enter.
I have the sweetest Chihuahua that we rescued. Melanie is a slim 7 pounds and has a great personality. She is mostly quiet, but loves to play too. She especially loves being near me in my sewing/quilting room where she contently sits on a Hello Kitty pillow.
ReplyDeleteSure, it'd be cool to win!! I have two dogs, both lab/shepherds from the local Humane Society. They are 11 & 13 years old and just love to sleep in the studio while I sew. They know we all need more fabric! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI have two wonderful neurotic pets. (animal like owner they say =D)
ReplyDeleteKatie our adorable 11 year old long haired Tabby with enough attitude to last this lifetime and beyond, and Sophie our "surprise" Golden Retriever - a gift from our adorable kids on Mother's Day almost 2 years ago that knows no limits and has a defiant streak that puts most teenagers to shame. The kids thought since they'd been moved out for so long, Mom and Dad needed a companion! Since life is complicated to say the least with these two and spur of the moment plans are no longer possible, your lovely give away would be put to good use as quilting is my therapy after dealing with the love hate relationship between the cat and the dog! Thanks for the opportunity to enter!
Cute kittie! I don't have any pets right now, DH doesn't want any. :( My last pet was a Scottie named Mitzi and she was the best dog I ever had. Loved to sit in my lap and snuggle! I do miss her so!
ReplyDeleteSandy A
I have a kitty who is the most cuddly pet I've ever had. She's my first cat, so I'm still on the learning curve with her. I wouldn't give mine away, either....but I sure love the chance to win your fabric giveaway! Thanks "sew much", Susan!!
ReplyDeleteLove giveaways! They are pretty aren't they? Thanks for doing the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteOur pet is named Scamp! He is an Aussiedoodle (half Australian Shepherd, half poodle) He is an awesome dog and lays by me when I'm sewing and under my Gammill longarm when I'm working/playing!
ReplyDeleteI have a wonderful 10 year old yorkie named Mac and two Granddogs and a Grandcat. Never a dull moment with the grands and their uncle around!!!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I would love the fat quarters! I think the kitten was just one of those marketing ploys to lure me in! LOL I was forced to give my last pet, a beautiful Siamese mix cat away due to allergies. He was beautiful, long hair and had a motor that purred very loud. He loved everyone and I loved him. Miss him, but know he's in a good home.
ReplyDeleteOh, pets - we do love our four footers in this house - and even our no-footers!!! We have a blended family of 3 cats, 2 gerbils, and 6 fish, and they are all very loved.. Cats are Luna (from Mexico), Rainbow (from a pet store), and Jack (from our local animal shelter, where my daughter volunteers). Gerbils are Lucy and Midnight, and the fish are Whitey, Blackey, Swim, Bob, Larry, and Spot.. And yes, all well loved!!
ReplyDeleteI am currently pet-less. But I do have 2 grandcats. Munson and Bruce, whom I don't see very often.
ReplyDeleteMy cat's name is Nitwit The Terrible. His name might seem odd but when he was a baby he'd be doing something silly so I'd say your such a little nitwit and it was the only thing he'd answer to:) He went through a phase of grocery shopping in the cupboards and we'd find all kinds of food that he drug downstairs, even a ound of frozen hamburger. We found that before it thawed out thankfully!
ReplyDeletefrom Sondra (sondra@mojoquiltdesigns.com)
Love the kitty ... I kiss the "dirty spot" on one of my kitties face .. he pretends to hate it. Both of our cats were captured on a snowy January day (-20 degrees out) by putting food in a have a heart trap and waiting while our toes froze. They ran wild in our house for weeks .. we saw them a couple of times but didn't get near them .. they were eating and using the litter box which amazed me. After about six weeks, one walked gingerly across my lap .. that was the beginning! They sleep in our bed, drink milk from Dad's glass and are spoiled rotten! Have a wonderful Christmas season!
ReplyDeleteNo pets at our house, but your kitty is adorable. Thanks for sharing all your goodies so generously.
ReplyDeleteWicked is cute! I have a doxel - daschund and beagle - from our local rescue - named Loki and she is a fiesta fun dog! thanks for the giveaways!
ReplyDeleteLove your cat, Wicked. Our cat, Psycho, defected to the neighbor's chicken farm across the road after two years. I think he found a girlfriend. My husband then found a kitten after and she has become our family's new spoiled furball. I call her Cotton. My grandson calls her Carrot Top. She still only comes to eat when she heres "here kitty, kitty":~).
ReplyDeleteA new kitten is always fun.
ReplyDeleteWe had several pets growing up - cats and dogs and one time a chicken!
I remember these pets fondly - friends and confidants when I was a child.
We got a black lab for our family and she was a valuable member of our family. We lost her last month at 13 years old. She was a friend to my children and to me too!
Our cat misses her as well. Keeps looking for her friend he cuddled with.
It is great to have a critique with no voice.
Your kitty is cute and has good taste in fabric! I have a tuxedo cat named Misty. She likes to sleep in my studio in a little bed I provided her. She used to steal my pin cushions - and especially likes the felted wool ones ~ Karen
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics do look like 30s that I may have some of. Too lazy to go look. Did you check to see if any of them have a printed selvage?
ReplyDeleteNo pets here! We had fish for a while, but I sent them with my daughter when she got married. A couple of parakeets, too, I love birds. But, they made too much noise and were too much of a hassle to take care of.
I have 4 adorable Yorkies. Got a female first and thought she needed company so I got a male for her just to keep her company. Well then I thought how nice it would be to let her have a litter of puppies before I got the male neutered. Normally a female yorkie has only 1 or 2 puppies....well she had two females and two males...4! I kept one of the little girsl and one of the boys and let a dear friend of mine have the other two pups. I knew they would be in the best hands andi would get to see them often. I do not know how breeders do it selling these adorable pups! I would want to keep them all instead of selling them to stranded and not ever seeing them again :0(. So that is my story about how I ended up with 4 Yorkies!
ReplyDeletegoing to some stranger!
My cat is named Cote. My daughter's cat is named Wylie. They are both very wonderful companions. Love your kitty's name.
ReplyDeleteSallyKingemail@gmail.com
All my pups and kitties have gone over the rainbow, but I do babysit my grand dog Lucky. She just went home a couple of days ago and I'm lonely again.
ReplyDeleteWicked is so cute! And I love the fat quarters. Hope I win!
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteI peeked, and I don't think there is anything on the selvages.
Oooh, yummy fabric! We don't have a pet at the moment, unless you count three young and rambunctious boys, but we used to have a crazy cat named Amazon and a dog named Gypsy. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThis fabric looks great. I have three cats and one dog. They are all loving and they are getting older. They don't have the energy of a young animal, but they also don't cause as much mischief either. That is a good thing because I have two little boys that cause all the mischief that I can handle.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan!
ReplyDeleteLove your kitten, so CUTE! :)
I have two birds and a much loved Bunny. One bird, a cockatiel, whistles the Andy Griffith tune..so he is appropriately named "Andy"! The other bird is a parakeet named "Misty". Our adorable American Rabbit is "Peter" and is a house bunny and very well trained. Thank you for the chance of a giveaway...LOVE fabric! But..think you knew that already :) Miss you Bunches!

Would love to win the fat quarters! At present, do not have a pet, but am considering getting a kitten. I like dogs, too.
ReplyDeleteWe have a tuxedo too. POLO as in "Polo Ralph Lauren" She must have a distant Persian Royal Relative, thus she is long haired. Its going to be a hot summer so last week The Vet gave her a Lion cut (shaved all over except Socks, tail and head). She looks hilarious.
ReplyDeleteShe thinks she is a human.
What a cutie pie kitty! What fun to have a new one in your home. Our little cat, Pumpkin, used to be so much company - I do miss her but now is not the time to have a new family member here...
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win :) I'm also the cat lover ;) I have two maine coon cats - Xanthos and Wesley. Xanthos is red/white and loves to help me while I sew (read: he lies on the fabric that I can't move it around and it's impossible to move him, cause he always comes back on the same spot). Wesley is black smoke and he's kind of 'one cat=one owner' cat. Only I can stroke, play, brush him, etc.
ReplyDeletePets? I lived with so many of them since I was 6 years old!
ReplyDeleteRight now, in my house there are: MiĂą MiĂą, a 18 1/2 years old skinny and so tender cat; Titina (15 years old dog); Fusilla (13 years old cat); last but not least, Birillo (2 years old cat). The last one loves helping me while knitting of crochetting...;-)
ciao

Very cute kitten! I don't have any pets right now as hubby is allergic... Thanks for a chance to win this gorgeous fabric! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the Houston goodness with us. I hope to win that and complete a dog's adoption next week ... fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteI have 3 dachshunds. A mini, a tweenie, and a mix from the pound. They are spoiled with love and tend to follow me from room to room. I can't sneak up on anyone because you can hear the puppies coming. I soak in the jaccuzi and my mini sits on the edge of the tub and waits, and the mix lays on the rug..I could have named them all shadow, but that would be confusing.
ReplyDeleteMy sweet pet is Miss Puny Puss. She's just a good old barn cat who happened to be the runt of the litter... hence the name Puny Puss. She's part Absynian, so she talks a lot, and we actually understand what she's trying to communicate! Puny is now 15 years old, but still acts like a kitten - very playful.
ReplyDeleteNo cats in our house as my husband is allergic! We have a black labrador, 7 cows and numerous chickens!!
ReplyDeleteGreat kitty and lucky to have found you for her family.
ReplyDeleteLove the kitty. My cat, named Mouse, had to be put to sleep last July. There was a place on her forehead right in front of her ear where her fur was thinner that was so warm. I used to kiss that spot very often. Never was a cat kissed so much. I miss her terribly. Give Wicked a kiss for me.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win the fabric.
My pet is a cat named Hook for his tail is bent like a hook at the end. He came to me at age 9 and I can't imagine my world without him. Even though he is an outdoor cat, he is spoiled with lovin.
ReplyDeleteYour new kitty is adorable!
Let's hope Wicked doesn't live up to her name!
ReplyDeleteThe dog we have now, Winston, is actually my DD's dog. Our other dog... the perfect pet and companion (Cassie, a Bichon Frise) was mine. I had her for 16 years. Then DH brought Winston home... a rescue mix of poodle, bichon, terrier of some sort. He's dull and vacant... no personality until someone comes to the door. Then he comes alive and wants to eat their feet. We think he was abused. I didn't want another dog... but 2 against 1, well they won. He does clean up well and looks cute in pics! That's his one saving grace.
The fabrics are lovely... thanks for the chance.
Cute kittie! Unfortunately we are "catless" at the moment. When we lived at our last home we had "indoor-outdoor" cats since we were outside of town in the canyon. They were a source of a lot of entertainment, but NOT entertaining the night one had a bunny and the other had a lizard inside the house!! That's when I decided they had to be either in or out for the night.
ReplyDeleteWicked is adorable. We have 2 cats, Tiffany (18yrs) & Ralphie(7yrs), Buster,a mini-doxie/chihuahua mix who thinks he's a cat and then our lovebird, Necco. So, I wouldn't even notice any kitty hair on the giveaway fabrics. LOL I think my cutest tale is that Ralphie cries at the living room window whenever someone takes the dog outside. When he sees you heading back towards the door, he'll run to the kitchen and the two of them greet each other like long lost friends.
ReplyDeleteMy only pet is a 17 year old gold fish - yes 17 years!! Although I do dog sit for my daughters lovely michievious pug ROCKY - you can see pics of him on my blog. so I would love to win the quarters.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the addition of the cute kitty in the photo. I cannot recognize the fabric. The fqs are cheerful in color and perfect for a hexagon quilt that is my lifetime project. Thanks for another lovely giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a pet but I love them and those fabrics also. We have had many dogs over the years but alas health does not permit the having of them.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Linda
I lost my miniture dauchshound, Miss Sophia this past June. Very hard and I'll try not to cry now. She loved to snuggle under the blankets and could cover herself totally. Miss Sophia also loved clean laundry straight out of the dryer and often I found her under the pile. hehe. My daughter who still lives at home has two dogs. Bruzer who is a 2 1/2 yr. pit bull and Shorty who is a pain in the butt! It started out my daughter was just "watching" him and two months later, he's still here. Guess he's staying. Shorty is a Yorkie mix, 7mos. and all hair that chews stuff.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the great giveaway and a chance to win.

Wicked id lovely.
ReplyDeleteI haven´t pets. Thanks for the chance!
No pets at our house. We do have several goldfish in our pond though :-)
ReplyDeleteI guess the closest thing I have to a pet would be the milk goat. I spend "quality" time with her every morning.

We don't have any pets. We've had dogs in the past, tho. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLove you little kitty - she (he?) is so cute.
ReplyDeleteI have 3 senior pets. Two cats who are sisters and don't like each other and one senior dog that we brought home from the Humane Society. Baxter cares for no one but my husband and I think his previous owner was an elderly gent who had to go into a home (that's my story.)
I have a black cat...she's my second black cat. The first one got runover, and it stunned my older son so much, he called the animal shelter for days trying to find another female cat. When one finally came up, turns out she was black too. The first one's name was Spunky, but this one is called Midnight!
ReplyDeleteawww we dont have a pet but wewill get one soon
ReplyDeleteyour kitten is cute...my pet is Molly, a White Westhighland Terrier...she is 10 years old and we just love her to death...she is the sweetest dog....she is our "furry child"...LOL
ReplyDeleteWe have two dogs - a cockapoo and a sheltie. Both are coming up on their second birthdays. The sheltie is a quirky little guy. The cockapoo is my quilting buddy - she helps me keep the floor clear of scraps. Either I pick up scraps that fall right away or she eats them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric! I have a all boy Blue Heeler who thinks he should have been born a small lap dog! I lost my best gal this last spring. She was a Alaskan Husky and the best friend a girl could ask for. I miss her dearly! I also have a grouchy parrot! Come to think of it, right now I'm out numbered by boys!
ReplyDeleteOur cat is names Smokey. He found us one day - almost starved to death an wounded from fights with other cats. He was probably someone's escaped pet, but we couldn't find them. He is now a happy, well fed guy who loves to go outside, and is a great mouser. We call him our cat-dog because he greets everyone and is super friendly.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie kitten...........I was in cat rescue for over 20 years, only stepped back from it about 4 years ago.
ReplyDeleteI still miss having the kittens at home to foster, till they were homed. But my dogs are relieved these days with only 3 resident semi ferals sharing our home now!
Crafting and cats go hand in hand somehow lol
This one is eary, My fat cats name s Matsu after a valley in Alaska. He is black and white. Not very cuddly in fact hi favorite thing is to lay on my fabric as I am trying to sew and chew on it. I still love him.
ReplyDeleteOur tuxedo cat, Sylvester, was rescued by my son from some children who were playing catch with him. He was so tiny that when Danny brought him home in his shirt pocket only his eyes and ears were visible above the top of the pocket. He's been king of the house for 10 years now.

This would be my favorite giveaway so far since I'm a quilter and would love to put the fat quarters to use! Our pet is Pepper, an English Springer Spaniel. She just turned 13, is deaf, and is living on borrowed time. We love her to pieces, and what a sad day when she's no longer with us.
ReplyDeleteLove that new kitty! We don't have any pets. Hubby is allergic to cats and dogs.=( Thanks for the opportunity to win.
ReplyDeleteWicked is adorable. I have a Cockapoo named D O G (pronounced dee O gee)and he helps me quilt. Such a great friend.
ReplyDelete
