Susan’s So Thankful Give-Away #10: Festival Tote Bag

This is the official tote bag of the 2011 International Quilt Festival – Houston! It is made from recycled water bottles and other recycled plastics. You can use it until it wears out, and then recycle it again. It is spacious and sturdy, and features a beautiful contemporary quilt called “Starry Night” by Shirley Fowlkes-Stevenson, from the exhibit Texas Quilts Today: Selections from the Book Lone Stars III: A  Legacy of Texas Quilts 1986-2011. This quilt is featured on the front and back, and there are beautiful stars from the quilt on the sides.

One of the things I love about this tote is that is structured inside. It has a section inside that folds out with spaces to hold three large bottles. The bottom is also reinforced.

Here’s your chance to win! Leave a comment after this post and tell me what you’d be toting in your tote bag if you win it. I’ll pull a name at random at 9 p.m. on Wednesday Dec. 7, and send you the tote bag. AND THE WINNER IS: Judy Cooper Textile Images!

  1. At the risk of sounding like I'm kissing patootie, I'd carry your DVDs! And water bottles - they leak in my current tote.....

  4. I would tote lots of things: quilts for one, projects to classes, and show and tell. I have the fabricy kind of totes that I use for groceries, but if I won the festival tote bag, I wouldn't let it get dirty with groceries...it needs to stay "clean" to keep my quilts in tip-top shape!

  15. Hi Susan!

I love your colorful site! I see you've been very generous with your giveaways, and I'd like to be considered for the very cool Festival Tote bag. I haven't done ANY quilting this year, it's been too hectic between work, kids, grandson, work, etc...I would love to tote take-a-longs in the tote so I can take advantage of "in-between" time, like when I'm driving and I'm stopped at a red light - JUST KIDDING ;-) Breaks at work, doctor's appointments, waiting for hubs, kids, etc. The best reason of all, though - December 7th is my 52nd birthday! Thank you so much for the chance, Joyce

  25. What a great bag, Id just have to use it every day, to flaunt the quilting hobby!
It would go to work with me and inside would be my lunch and book/magazine/stitching to do or read at lunchtime.
At weekends then it would still have to go 'out' with me, especially now in our dark and dreary winter months ( UK so enuf said about the weather)to bring colour and recycling joy to all who would see it!

Since I don't swim, snorkle, boat, etc., I am hoping to do some shop-hopping. And, of course, I have a long laundry list of "want buys"!!!. As always, thanks for all the give aways.
