Hello, hoppers! Welcome to my stop on the Quilting Arts Holiday blog hop! My project in this issue is a Quick Cuff (above). It is easy to make, and easy to personalize and give as a gift to a friend or family member this holiday season.
You can buy a copy of the magazine in the Quilting Daily Shop. It is chock-full of gorgeous decorations, ornaments, cards, wearable art and gifts.
I’ve listed the participating artists below. Many will be posting tutorials or doing give-aways, so make sure to check each blog on the days listed below; if you’ve missed some, you can go back and see what you’ve missed.
Quilting Arts is giving away an Easy Necklace Kit, a Beaded Snowflake Kit, 2 yards of Pellon interfacing and a copy of Holiday so you can make Village Houses (directions in the magazine). All these projects are featured in Quilting Arts Holiday. Just check out Vivika’s post, and leave a comment there.
GIVEAWAY!
I’m giving away one of my cuffs (see photo above). Leave me a comment after this post, and tell me about one gift you’d love to give or get. At 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, I’ll draw one name at random. Make sure you leave me your e-mail address, or some way to reach you. Check back on September 22 to see if you’ve won. And be sure to visit the other bloggers listed below for more chances to win.
Note: If your comment does not show up right away, please don’t freak out. Please post only one comment. I now have to moderate/approve all comments, because I was getting a ton of Japanese porn spammers leaving comments on my blog!
WE HAVE A WINNER…
Janarama has won the cuff!

Fabulous cuff !
ReplyDeletei am in love with bags at the moment
ReplyDeleteOne gift I'd like to give or get? Hmmm... I'd love to give a Bernina sewing machine to my daughter and thus pass on the gift of reliable sewing and quilting. I'll eventually give her one of mine, of course, but not just yet! And get? A late warmup in the weather here in Michigan so I can swim and camp and create on my annual outing (which I missed this year). Silly wishes, I guess, but sincere! Thanks, Susan.
ReplyDeleteI love to receive anything that is handmade. Shows so much care from the maker! Beautiful cuff btw.
ReplyDeleteI love to give handmade gifts.
ReplyDeleteI'd really like a new lightweight sewing machine but I can dream about it.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to receive a gift certificate to my local quilt shop. I enjoy giving small practical gifts that people generally don't think to get or make for themselves. This year I'll be giving mug rugs, no two alike. -- soparkaveataoldotcom
ReplyDeleteLove your cuff Susan...beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI would love to give some beautiful wind chimes I've learned about recently to all my quilting friends. The sound is heavenly....what a gift they would be...but way too expensive to buy them in bulk.
Smiles,
Kelly
Hi Susan. I did not come to your blog for a giveaway (but it was a nice surprise!) what I came to your blog to do was tell you what an absolutely FABULOUS job you are doing as the new host of Quilting Arts. I have watched the show for years and you bring a fresh new perspective and energy that is exciting and inspiring. Best of luck to you with this new endeavor. I hope to meet you one day either by virtue of taking one of your workshops or a SAQA event. P.S. I'd love to get a handmade quilt rack!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Cathie. I am having a blast hosting Quilting Arts TV... what a dream job, getting to learn from all sorts of amazing fiber artists and quilters.
DeleteWe don't exchange gifts at Christmas, but I am thinking of making my mother some 'microwave bowls' as her 'hostess gift' this year. She is 88 and hosts Christmas Eve for our family. Two daughters, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteI love your cuffs! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteThe cuff is beautiful! For a gift, I'd love to give a home to all the cats in shelters! I usually give lap quilts or small wall-hangings. For a gift? I'd like a snowy holiday instead of a rainy/icy/drizzly one!
ReplyDeleteI would love to get a free craftsy course on bag making! I love your cuff, very nice! Thanks

I'd love the interfacing if the question means which of the items you listed. If the sky is the limit, I would love a subscription to quilting arts TV since I can't get it here in Vermont. I have a couple of your videos and love them.
ReplyDeleteI have been given the gift of a remodeled work room. Now I would like more time to create.
ReplyDeleteI actually have a list of things I want this year! It includes a FitBit, a serger, and a pressure canner :)
ReplyDeleteThat green cuff is pretty sweet. A gift for myself that I'd like is anything handmade by my grandchildren, as those are the absolute best, treasured forever.
ReplyDeleteLove your cuff! I never even thought about making a cuff out of fabric...thank you for the idea. I'd love to make and give a queen size quilt for my sister. I have a pattern in mind, now I just have to get the fabric and make it! Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to adapt your cuff idea and make bookmarks for my book club friends. I enjoy watching you on quilting arts.
ReplyDeleteHolidays will be here soon, and I have started my handmade gifts early this year. Love your cuffs, makes for a wonderful gift. Thank you for sharing, Judith, Texas
ReplyDeleteI would like the gift of organizers for my sewing room to keep thins tidy while visually inspiring.
ReplyDeleteI love your cuffs. Would make gorgeous gifts! And I also love QA, I've been a fan for years.
ReplyDeleteHELLO, I'd love a floral Fat Quarter Bundle for a gift!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
